Welcome to My Brightspace Classroom -- Julie McCarroll

Welcome to My Online Classroom is a workshop series led by instructors, for instructors, with a specific focus on sharing a wide variety of ideas, strategies, and approaches to teaching online. The sessions will begin with a brief overview from the presenter, and then open for question-and-answer and discussion more broadly. The idea is to create spaces where instructors, regardless of experience, can exchange ideas for teaching online. 

This particular session will be led by Julie McCarroll, an Instructor with the School of Linguistics and Language Studies. For the Winter 2021 term, Julie taught in the new Learning Management System (LMS), Brightspace, as part of the pilot program. Julie is a TLS Brightspace Ambassador.

In this session, Julie will be focusing on her experience using the new LMS – what she learned about the system, what worked for her, and the lessons she learned. If you’re preparing to teach your first course in Brightspace, Julie’s session will allow you to see how a fellow instructor has used the new system and to ask the questions that you may have.
